Academic Skills Center to hold open house

RELEASED: Oct. 5, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — The Academic Skills Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 to welcome students and inform them about the center's services. Refreshments will be provided.

Located in Old Library 2112, between Schofield Hall and McIntyre Library, the Academic Skills Center is a resource for students needing individual tutoring to enhance learning strategies and skills in mathematics and reading. Group tutoring also is available for selected entry-level foreign language and science courses. In addition, an English as a second language program is available for permanent resident students.

Diagnostic evaluations in mathematics, reading, study strategies, test anxiety and English as a second language also are available.
