TO: News/Assignment Editors and Directors

FROM: Judy Berthiaume

DATE: Oct. 2, 2009

SUBJECT: Art student's work featured in The Onion

The artwork of Eric J. Lee, a UW-Eau Claire senior art major from Eau Claire, is highlighted in the A.V. Club, the arts and entertainment arm of The Onion.

Lee is a featured artist in tonight's Madison Museum of Contemporary Art's Fall Gallery Night, a twice-a-year event that features a variety of artists at locations throughout Madison. Lee's work will be featured at The State Street Gallery.

In its story about the gallery event, the A.V. Club includes photos of Lee's work and includes his work among the gallery night events that look most promising.

Lee works primarily in oil in conjunction with a number of experimental techniques involving furniture stain, ashes, concrete, ignited gunpowder, digital components and a variety of papers. His work has been shown regularly throughout the upper Midwest.
