Supervisory management courses offered

RELEASED: Oct. 1, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate program in October and November. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, the workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements. All programs will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire.

  • "Supervisory Management 2," Oct. 15-16. Topics include establishing orientation policies and procedures, understanding communication behaviors, time management, delegating and developing employees.
  • "Maximizing Performance," Oct. 8-9. Topics include creating an environment for excellence, identifying what you are rewarding, fine-tuning coaching and goal-setting techniques, diagnosing performance problems, and turning around undesirable behaviors and rewarding desirable ones.
  • "Improving Team Communication," Nov. 5-6. Learn critical influence and persuasion skills. Discover how to improve team problem solving and make a positive impact on team performance.
  • "Supervisory Management 3," Nov. 12-13. Topics include working toward more effective coaching, establishing job expectations and critical skills in the coaching process.

The individual course fee is $425 per person and includes lunch, materials and instruction. The group fee is $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time. The series fee is $1,125 per individual registering for Supervisory Management 1, 2, and 3 at the same time.
