Student art show set for Dec. 4-13

RELEASED: Nov. 23, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — Four candidates for bachelor of fine arts degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will display their work next month in a senior BFA art show.

The exhibit will run Dec. 4-13 in the Foster Gallery of the Haas Fine Arts Center. A public reception is slated for 1-3 p.m. Dec. 12 in the gallery.

The exhibit will consist of photography, graphic design, print media and paintings.

"The work is about detaching the context from euphemisms, innuendos and slang, and creating a literal and innocent depiction of the word or phrase," Michael Truttmann, Hager City, said about his photography. "The work is an expression of the line between the innocent and the experienced in American language and perceptions."

Other students who will exhibit their work in the show are Alexandra Ingersoll, DeForest; Kaz Kuroki, St. Louis Park, Minn.; and Katie Stretz, Slinger.

Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4:30 p.m. weekends.
