Women's Chorus to perform fall concert Nov. 23

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The performance will feature the a cappella group Girls Night Out.

The Women's Chorus is directed by Richard Moses, associate lecturer of music, and senior student conductor Stephanie Benson, Mankato, Minn.

The chorus will begin its performance with Johannes Brahms' "Ave Maria," "Den tod" from Cantata No. 4 by Johann Sebastian Bach and Robert Schumann's "Volksliedchen."

The second set will feature "Barter" by Rene Clausen, Vincent Perichetti's "Maggie and Millie and Molly and May" and "I Will Be Earth" by Gwyneth Walker.

A guest performance by Girls Night Out will follow.

The Women's Chorus' final set will begin with Leonard Bernstein's "Gloria Tibi" from "Mass" and Aaron Copland's "Little Horses" and "Ching-A-Ring Chaw." The concert will conclude with Moses Hogan's "Ride On, King Jesus."

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older, 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and free for students with a university ID.
