EAU CLAIRE — Two visiting international nursing scholars are spending time with University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff this week.
Dr. Helga Jónsdóttir and Dr. Merian Litchfield are sharing ideas about health care models and ways of delivering care. Jónsdóttir also will share her research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Jónsdóttir, a professor of nursing and director of research and development in nursing care for chronically ill adults at the University of Iceland, is conducting a three-year international and interdisciplinary project called "Partnership to Enhance Self-Management of People Diagnosed with COPD and their Families," funded by the Icelandic Centre for Research and the Research Fund of the University of Iceland.
Litchfield, a research fellow with the department of primary health care and general practice at the University of Otago, New Zealand, is working on a multidisciplinary research project addressing the quality agenda in primary health care in New Zealand and has participated in Jónsdóttir's COPD research project.
