Women's Concert Chorale to perform Nov. 15

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Concert Chorale will present a concert at 5 p.m. Nov. 15 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

Women's Concert Chorale, directed by Dr. Alan Rieck, associate professor of music, will perform "Ergen Dede" by Peter Lyondev, "Ave Maria" by László Halmos, "Sing a New Song to the Lord" by Paul Basler, "Nada te turbe" by Joan Szymko, "Hail Holy Queen" arranged by Marc Shaiman, and "No Mirrors" by Ysaye Maria Barnwell.

The group also will perform "Las Amarillas," a traditional Mexican song arranged by Stephen Hatfield; "Como Tu" by Alberto Grau; "Mornings Innocent" by Gwyneth Walker, featuring senior Amy Stanfield, Lake Geneva, as student conductor; "I Thank You God" by Gwyneth Walker, featuring senior Tammie Delveaux, Grafton, as student conductor; "No Thank You, John" by Ruth Morris Gray; and "We Are" by Ysaye Marie Barnwell.

One of six choral ensembles at UW-Eau Claire, Women's Concert Chorale consists of students from many academic disciplines. In addition to regular concerts, the group tours and is featured at the Viennese Ball. Women's Concert Chorale performed its first international tour in the People's Republic of China in 2005 and toured South Africa in 2009.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, 17 and younger, and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID. Tickets for all campus events also are sold at the Service Center's ticket office in the lobby of Haas Fine Arts Center. The ticket outlet is open from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is closed during holidays and academic breaks.
