EAU CLAIRE — Five seniors from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team attended the first Match Made In Heaven Tournament Nov. 7-8 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.
The UW-Eau Claire team took second in team sweepstakes.
Individual results are as follows:
Nick Miller, Hales Corners, placed first in persuasion, third in communication analysis, fifth in duo interpretation with Laura Magnusson, Apple Valley, Minn., and sixth in after-dinner speaking. Miller qualified to compete in the National Forensic Association tournament in communication analysis.
Jake Johnson, Eau Claire, placed second in extemporaneous speaking, third in impromptu speaking and sixth in informative speaking and persuasion.
Dylan Jambrek, Waukesha, placed third in extemporaneous speaking and fourth in after-dinner speaking.
Magnusson placed fourth in informative speaking.
Emily Schreiner, Wausau, placed fifth in persuasion.
