EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team competed in the 62nd annual L.E. Norton Invitational Nov. 7-8 at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
The prestigious event is one of the largest invitational tournaments in the nation, with 38 schools and more than 1,000 entries.
UW-Eau Claire placed seventh overall.
Individual results for the tournament are as follows:
Senior Nick Miller, Hales Corners, placed fourth in individual sweepstakes. Miller placed first in persuasion and was a semifinalist in communication analysis.
Senior Dylan Jambrek, Waukesha, placed second in extemporaneous speaking and was a semifinalist in impromptu speaking.
Freshman Megan McKeown, Eagan, Minn., placed third in novice prose.
Sophomore Patrick Martin, Burnsville, Minn., placed sixth in informative speaking.
Sophomore James Kust, Eau Claire, was a semifinalist in communication analysis.
Senior Laura Magnusson, Apple Valley, Minn., and junior Whitney Zahn, Menomonee Falls, were semifinalists in informative speaking.
Juniors Sarah Taylor, Merrill, and Meghan Pickard, Eau Claire, were semifinalists in after-dinner speaking.
