35th Annual Holiday Concert set for Dec. 6

RELEASED: Nov. 6, 2009

Holiday Concert imageEAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's department of music and theatre arts and the UW-Eau Claire Foundation will continue a long-standing tradition by offering the 35th Holiday Concert at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 6 in Zorn Arena.

To help offset the rising costs of presenting the concert, the UW-Eau Claire Foundation is charging a small fee this year — $5 for floor seats and $3 for bleacher seats. Ticket sales for the public will begin Nov. 16. Tickets may be purchased at the Service Center in Davies Center or by calling 715-836-3727. A $3 handling fee will be added to all telephone charge orders.

"This performance showcases the talents, energy and commitment of more than 500 UW-Eau Claire students who participate in the concert," said Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich. "This is a chance for our distinguished music faculty and dedicated students to share their musical abilities with the community in the spirit of the season."

The concert will feature performances by The Singing Statesmen, Symphonic Choir, Symphony Orchestra, Women's Concert Chorale, Women's Chorus, Concert Choir and Wind Symphony.

In conjunction with the concert, the Student Philanthropy Organization will be collecting new children's books for the Give-a-Kid-a-Book project of the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library. Audience members are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped children's books to donate.
