EAU CLAIRE — Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Chris Koza will return to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for three free concerts Nov. 20-21. His shows in The Cabin of Davies Center will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Mixing witty banter with catchy lyrics and scintillating guitar riffs, Koza has a voice reminiscent of a young Paul Simon and lyrics comparable to those of Bob Dylan. Music critics have compared his sound to that of Wilco, Nick Drake, Beck and Ryan Adams, among others. After his first album, "Exit Pesce" (2004), Koza received Best New Artist and Critics Choice awards in the 2005 Minnesota Music Awards. His second CD, "Patterns" (2006), was named top local album of the year by the Minneapolis Star Tribune and top pop recording in the 2006 Minnesota Music Awards. His latest album, "The Dark, Delirious Morning" (2008), has received strong reviews and continued air play on Minnesota Public Radios influential 89.3-FM The Current.

"As the title suggests, the third disc by this wistful, romantic melody maker celebrates the dark before the dawn with bright, bubbling indie-pop arrangements," wrote the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Cabin performances are free and open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all evening programs. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

All performances are produced and managed completely by student members of The Cabin committee of the Student Senate's University Activities Commission. For a complete schedule, contact the Activities and Programs office, 715-836-4833, or visit The Cabin Web site.
