UW-Eau Claire McPhee Center Roofing Project
to Close Areas of Upper Campus

RELEASED: May 22, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — Starting the morning of May 26, several areas of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's southeast upper campus will be closed due to a roofing project at the university's McPhee Center, facilities planning and management officials have announced.

The parking lot north of McPhee Center, the steps leading from the center to Putnam Drive on lower campus and all entrances to McPhee Center will be closed for the roofing project, which is expected to be completed by June 5.

The project uses a spray-on coating that can drift onto surrounding areas depending on the direction of the wind, said Mike Traynor, associate director for facilities, who noted that caution tape and barricades will be placed around the building to warn people to stay away from affected areas. The link area between McPhee Center and the adjacent Ade Olson Addition will remain open, Traynor said.
