Christian Wise, director of Blugold Dining, will present "Sustainability: Another Word for Efficient," from noon-1 p.m. at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Wise will examine how various changes in dining service practices are helping the university save water and energy and waste less food.

Wise will discuss how going trayless, recycling everything from coffee grounds to fryer oil, establishing a composting program, and using napkins made from recycled material and cups and plates made from biodegradable material are not only good for the environment but also more efficient dining service practices.

The presentation is part of the Alumni Association's "Let's Do Lunch" program, which is open to the public. The $10 cost includes the presentation, buffet, beverage, tax and tip. To reserve tickets, contact the Alumni Association at alumni@uwec.edu or 715-836-3266.

For more information about UW-Eau Claire's trayless program or other sustainable Blugold Dining initiatives, contact Wise at 715-836-5261.
