EAU CLAIRE — Thanks to two enthusiastic students, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has a cycling team for the first time in six years, and it's on the road to a national championship.
The UW-Eau Claire Cycling Team was re-established this year by seniors Adam Koble, Waseca, Minn., and Tristin Bentzler, Osseo. The two students will represent UW-Eau Claire this week at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships May 7-10 in Fort Collins, Colo.
The club itself meets for group rides at 3:45 p.m. on Mondays at the clock tower on the Central Campus Mall. The rides are open to anyone.
"We've got about 10 regular members," Koble said. "We welcome anyone that enjoys riding — this is not only a racing club."
For more information, contact Koble at kobleac@uwec.edu.
