UW-Eau Claire Students Reminded to Donate, Not Dump

Don't Dump It logoEAU CLAIRE — The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is asking University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students to remember this message: Don't Dump It, Donate It.

The Health Department is offering a variety of services and information to help students moving out of residence halls and apartments at the end of the semester.

A donation drop-off site will be assembled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 15 and May 22 at UW-Eau Claire's parking lot on Water Street at the corner of Second Ave. and Water St. Items to be accepted include usable clothes, household items, non-perishable food and furniture. For hauling assistance, contact the Health Department at 715-839-4718 before May 18 to make arrangements.

Daily curbside garbage pick-up will be offered May 15-23, excluding May 17. A list of regulations, a map of area boundaries and recycling instructions can be found online at the Eau Claire County Web site.

The Health Department encourages pet owners who are considering giving up their pets to contact the Eau Claire County Humane Association at 715-839-4747 to discuss humane options.

These services are a cooperative effort of the Health Department, UW-Eau Claire Student National Environmental Health Association, the City of Eau Claire, UW-Eau Claire Parking and Transportation Services, Hope Gospel Mission, UW-Eau Claire Student Senate, Chippewa Valley Apartment Association, the Third Ward and Historic Randall Park neighborhood associations, Eau Claire Interfaith Hospitality Network, Waste Management and Veolia Environmental Services.
