'Sounds of Jazz' Series to Explore
Contributions of Chris Potter

RELEASED: March 30, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — The Eau Claire Jazz Festival will host a number of jazz related events prior the Jazz Festival Weekend, April 2-5, including the "Sounds of Jazz" adult series presented by music historian and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire professor Ryan Jones.

These series are free and open to the public.

The last of the series, "Chris Potter: a Study of the Man and His Music," will be presented twice:

  • March 30, 6:30-8 p.m. at the Ramada Convention Center, Chestnut Room.
  • April 2, 2-2:45 p.m., UW-Eau Claire's Haas Fine Arts Center, Room 159.

The presentation will include an in-depth exploration of Jazz Festival guest headliner Chris Potter, his background and the influence he is having on jazz.

This series is made possible through the Eau Claire Jazz Festival, Ramada Inn Convention Center and UW- Eau Claire.
