Jazz Events Continue During Third Week of Eau Claire Festival

EAU CLAIRE — The Eau Claire Jazz Festival will continue to offer a variety of free public events in its third week. Jazz performances, educational seminars and a jazz art crawl will take place through April 5 to showcase local jazz talent through a variety of art forms.

The Jazz Art Crawl is on display through April 5 at many local venues during regular business hours. Fifteen local adult artists have pieces on display along with student artists from DeLong, Northstar and South middle schools. Venues include the Acoustic Café, Avalon Floral, The Goat Coffeehouse, Heyde Center for the Arts, L.E. Phillips Senior Center, Infinitea Teahouse, Just Local Food, Ramada Convention Center and the State Theatre.

Free Jazz events this week include:

  • March 24: Jazz at 5, featuring Sue Orfield, State Theater Lobby, 5-6:30 p.m. Also featured will be poet Candace Hennekens.
  • March 25: Mike Wolter and Evan Benidt, 4 p.m., The Goat Coffee House.
  • March 26: Regis High School Jazz Band, 7 p.m., Oakwood Mall food court.
  • March 27: The John Raymond Project, 4 p.m., Festival Foods.
  • March 28: UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble III combo, 1 p.m., The Goat Coffee House; Jim Geddes Quartet, 3 p.m., Harmony Coffee Café; The New Jazz Sextet, 5 p.m., Acoustic Café.
  • March 29: The John Raymond Project, 1 p.m., Borders.
