EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Environmental Adventure Center and the Wisconsin Clear Waters Chapter of Trout Unlimited will offer a two-part "Introduction to Fly Fishing" workshop.
The workshops will run from 4-8 p.m. April 6 in the EAC, located in the basement of Hilltop Center on upper campus, and April 8 along the Chippewa River near Haas Fine Arts Center.
The workshop will introduce participants to the basic components of fly fishing, familiarize them with equipment, teach them to cast and tie basic flies, and supervise practice fishing on the river. The workshop also will include discussions on conservation and healthy stream habitats.
All equipment will be provided for the workshop, but participants are responsible for acquiring a Wisconsin fishing license.
The workshop fee is $10 for students and $15 for faculty/staff and the general public. The fee includes a membership in the local chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Participants may sign up in the EAC during normal hours of operation as posted on the Web site.
