Minneapolis-based duo Skittish
To Give Free Concerts at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: March 16, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — Minneapolis-based duo Skittish will play three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire March 27-28. An alternative band whose uber-catchy melodies are woven together with subversive humor, Skittish will perform Friday at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday at 8 p.m. in The Cabin of Davies Center.

Formed in 2004, Skittish is made up of Jeff Noller, veteran of many pop-rock bands on the Minneapolis music scene, and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Siobhan Meehl. They mix their literary folk-rock sound, in the same vein as Death Cab for Cutie and Rilo Kiley, with videos crafted by Noller.

The duo has released two full-length albums and garnered national college radio airplay that allowed them to chart on CMJ, showcase at SXSW and have their music featured in MTV programs. An ambitious double album is in the works.

Cabin performances are free and open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all evening programs. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

All performances are produced and managed completely by student members of The Cabin committee of the Student Senate's University Activities Commission. For a complete schedule of the semester's Cabin presentations, contact the Activities and Programs office, 715-836-4833, or visit the Cabin Web site.
