UW-Eau Claire Summer Events Series Continues with Julie Rust

EAU CLAIRE — A performance by Julie Rust will highlight the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Summer Events series for the week of June 22. Her free show will begin at 7 p.m. Monday on the Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Cabin, Davies Center). The audience is invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic. Free popcorn will be available.

Julie Rust has been a performing songwriter for more than 20 years. She touches audiences across the United States with her soothing voice, honest lyrics and virtuoso piano playing. She enjoys sharing her music with others to promote love, healing and peace.

The Summer Events series will also present the following:

  • Jazz at Noon concerts every weekday featuring the Walk/Klenz Jazz Group (June 22-24) and the Mike Wolter Group (June 25-26). The UW-Eau Claire student and alumni musicians will perform music ranging from jazz standards to improvisation on the Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Terrace, Davies Center). A variety of grilled lunch items will be sold.
  • The Fresh Start Farmers Mart from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 18 on the Central Campus Mall.
  • Tulio Rondón
    Tulio Rondón
    A performance by cellist Tulio Rondón and friends at 2 p.m. June 21 in Phillips Recital Hall of Haas Fine Arts Center. The light classical Summer Sounds concert is presented in cooperation with the department of music and theatre arts.

With the theme "Welcome to our Backyard," the Summer Events series continues through July 30. A complete schedule is available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727, or online.

The eight-week series is funded by the students of UW-Eau Claire and coordinated by the University Centers.
