Dennis Warner to Kick off UW-Eau Claire
Summer Events Series for Week of June 15

EAU CLAIRE — An outdoor concert by Dennis Warner and the D's will highlight the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Summer Events series for the week of June 15.
The free show will begin at 7 p.m. Monday on the Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Cabin, Davies Center). The audience is invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic. Free popcorn will be available.
Americana singer/songwriter Warner is known for his crafty wit, skillful musicianship and the special ability of captivating an audience. Accompanying his smooth vocals with his six- and twelve-string guitars, he has performed his family-oriented concerts throughout the country, drawing inspiration for songs that appeal to the universal aspects of our lives.
The Summer Events series will also present the following:
- Jazz at Noon concerts every weekday featuring the David Power Group (June 15-16), the Walk/Klenz Jazz Group (June 17) and the Mike Wolter Group (June 18-19). The UW-Eau Claire student and alumni musicians will perform music ranging from jazz standards to improvisation on the Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Terrace, Davies Center). A variety of grilled lunch items will be sold.
- A sample of area farmers market offerings at the Fresh Start Farmers Mart from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 18 on the Central Campus Mall.
- A performance by pianist Owen Lovell and Friends at 2 p.m. June 21 in Phillips Recital Hall of Haas Fine Arts Center. The light classical Summer Sounds concert is presented in cooperation with the department of music and theatre arts.
With the theme "Welcome to Our Backyard," the Summer Events series continues through July 30. A complete schedule is available at the Service Center, 715-836-3727, or online.
The eight-week series is funded by the students of UW-Eau Claire and coordinated by the University Centers.
