Small Business Development Center Sponsors Workshops on Business Web Sites

EAU CLAIRE — The Small Business Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present three workshops on how businesses can get the most from their Web sites.

  • "Learn to Build a Web Site Using Dreamweaver" will be held 5:30-9:30 p.m. Feb.12 in Schneider Hall Room 204 at UW-Eau Claire. It will cover Dreamweaver environment and basics, creating an index page, design basics and color theory, and creating your own Web site. Nate Ude from UW-Eau Claire's Learning and Technology Services will be the presenter. The fee is $109.
  • "Web 2.0 Tools, Blogs, Podcasts and Wikis" will be held 5:30-9:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in Schneider Hall Room 204 at UW-Eau Claire. It will cover strategies for using blogs, wikis and podcasts in businesses and compare various blog and wiki services. Participants will create a blog, wiki and a podcast. Donna Raleigh and Gene Leisz from Learning and Technology Services will be the presenters. The fee is $109.
  • "How to Maximize Your Web Presence" will be held 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. March 26 at the RCU Corporate Center in downtown Eau Claire. It will cover domain registration, Web site hosting, Web site design, and search engine optimization and marketing. Participants can have their Web sites critiqued by presenter Maria Hebert from First New Impressions. The fee is $189.

The workshops are designed for small business owners, entrepreneurs, marketers and others who are responsible for business Web sites or who communicate with site designers and content specialists. A fee of $339 is available for people registering for all three sessions.
