Export Documentation to Be February Workshop Topic

RELEASED: Jan. 8, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — Export documentation is the topic of a workshop to be held from 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Holiday Inn in Eau Claire.

This program is another "Doing Business Globally" event made possible by the Northern Wisconsin International Trade Association (NWITA), University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce International Division and other sponsors and partners. The program is designed for companies interested in successfully completing and managing their export documentation.

Speaker Bonnie J. Anderson has more than 40 years' experience in international trade and has held various positions in international contracts management, international traffic/logistics, offshore procurement, international program management and import/export trade compliance. She is licensed by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to instruct in international trade and is an adjunct instructor at St. Paul College. Anderson is a member and former director of the Midwest Global Trade Association and a member of the Twin Cities Import/Export Council. She currently consults on trade-related matters with WTH International Services, LLC.

Topics to be covered during the workshop include:

  • An overview of the export documentation process, including primary export elements.
  • A review of common export documentation requirements.
  • Information on how to prepare required export documents.
  • Procedures for using the U.S. Customs Automated Export System (AES) for entry of electronic export information.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of an export expert and network with other attendees.

The fee for the workshop is $79 and includes handouts, buffet poolside lunch and continuing education units (CEUs). There is a $20 student fee.
