UW-Eau Claire Forensics Team Takes First at Twin Cities Event

RELEASED: Feb. 23, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team placed first overall at the Feb. 17 Twin Cites Forensics League No. 5 Tournament hosted by Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn.

Individual results follow:

Junior April Ross, Wauwatosa, placed first in extemporaneous speaking and second in informative speaking, qualifying her for that event in the National Forensic Association National Tournament.

Junior Dylan Jambrek, Waukesha, placed first in impromptu speaking and second in after-dinner speaking, qualifying for NFA in that event.

Sophomore Meghan Pickard, Eau Claire, placed first in persuasion and third in impromptu speaking.

Senior Katie Nichols, Pembine, placed first in poetry interpretation and fourth in prose interpretation.

Senior Jake Johnson, Eau Claire, placed second in impromptu speaking.

Freshman Natalie Hunter, Vadnais Heights, Minn., placed third in dramatic interpretation, qualifying for NFA.

Sophomore Alicia Gerber, Ringle, placed fourth in after-dinner speaking.

Freshman Holly Albers, Mazeppa, Minn, placed fourth in informative speaking, qualifying for NFA.

Freshman Patrick Martin, Burnsville, Minn., placed fifth in after-dinner speaking.
