Chancellor to Host Student Roundtable Feb. 25

RELEASED: Feb. 20, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students can discuss issues with Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich and his staff at a Chancellor's Roundtable Feb. 25.

The discussion will take place from noon-1 p.m. in the Alumni Room of Davies Center. Brown bags are welcome and refreshments will be available. The roundtable is free and open to all students.

Discussion topics include the following:

  • College of Business laptop requirement — Beginning in fall 2009, all students enrolling in select College of Business courses must have access to a laptop computer that can be brought to class when there is in-class computer usage.
  • Davies Center building project — Update on what has been decided about the student-funded redevelopment of the university center; information about who can attend planning meetings.
  • Large-scale events on campus — Discussion of why UW-Eau Claire doesn't host more large-scale concerts and entertainment events.
  • Carbon emissions — Progress report on the university's comprehensive survey of carbon emissions; information about what we can start doing now.

The program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate, and hosted by the leadership honor society Mortar Board.
