EAU CLAIRE — Soap, a Chicago band currently living in Minneapolis, will play three free concerts Feb. 13-14 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The shows in The Cabin, the Davies Center coffeehouse that is celebrating its 40th anniversary season, will begin at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, and 8 p.m. Saturday.

Soap is an experimental rock fusion jam band whose clean sound has refreshed thousands throughout the country. Its four musicians create a hybrid of rock, jazz, bluegrass, blues and funk combined with stunning solos accompanied by ambitious melodies and harmonies. "Lather" (2006) is Soap's second full-length CD release, featuring 11 tracks that crackle with the brainy togetherness of jazz and the freewheeling attitude of rock.

Soap is Austin Lee (drums), Skyler Krapf (piano), Ross Taylor (bass, vocals) and Erich Krapf (lead guitar).

Cabin performances are free and open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all evening programs. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

All performances are produced and managed completely by student members of The Cabin committee of the Student Senate's University Activities Commission.

For a complete schedule of the semester's Cabin presentations, contact the Activities and Programs office, 715-836-4833, or visit the Cabin Web site.
