Foster Gallery Exhibit Examines Importance
of Materials and Processes

This piece of art by Edward Mayer is now on display in the Foster Gallery's "Drawing Beyond Edges" exhibit.

EAU CLAIRE — A new exhibit, "Drawing Beyond Edges," is on display in the Foster Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Haas Fine Arts Center through Feb. 19.

Curated by Jill Olm and Scott Robertson, painting faculty members at UW-Eau Claire, the show examines the importance that materials and processes play in contemporary drawing approaches in the large-scale drawings and work of Amanda Hughen, Edward Mayer, Cal Lane and Fraser Taylor. Taylor and Mayer visited the gallery to create their large-scale installation works.

Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening and 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information about gallery exhibits, call Foster Gallery Director Tom Wagener at 715-836-2328.
