Forensics team places fourth in Twin Cities tournament

RELEASED: Dec. 15, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team competed in the third Twin Cities Forensics League tournament Dec. 1 at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn. Seven UW-Eau Claire students competed in the tournament, many for the first time at an intercollegiate forensics tournament. The team placed fourth overall.

Individual results are as follows:

Freshman Megan McKeown, Eagan, Minn., placed second in poetry and sixth in prose.

Junior Kindra Kressin, Champion, Neb., placed third in poetry.

Freshman Abby Rand, Melrose, placed third in informative speaking.

Freshman Emily Gresbrink, Rochester, Minn., placed fourth in prose and fifth in persuasion.

Freshman Nicole Korbisch, Birnamwood, placed fifth in prose.

Freshman Jessica Krentz, Weston, placed fifth in impromptu speaking.
