EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire chapter of the American Marketing Association co-sponsored a regional conference with UW-Milwaukee Nov. 6 at UW-Whitewater.
The theme of the conference, "Marketing through Changing Tides," focused on three main tracks: Internet social media, sustainability and diversity, and viral public relations. More than 500 students from 16 regional universities attended sessions by speakers from Target, YouTube, Kohler Co., Lands' End, Johnson Controls Inc., and GMR Marketing.
UW-Eau Claire students organized "Career Corners," featuring more than 20 businesses open to networking and recruiting Midwest business students. Lunch workshops provided an opportunity to get advice from other AMA chapters on many topics, including how to prepare for a professional career.
This second annual regional conference was a great success thanks to the work done by AMA chapters at UW-Eau Claire, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Whitewater, and is an example of what can be accomplished when university organizations collaborate.
More information on the UW-Eau Claire chapter of AMA is available online.
