EAU CLAIRE — A run/walk to support the Arthritis Foundation will begin at 9 a.m. Dec. 12 in Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire's cross country teams and University Centers will sponsor the Jingle Bell Run/Walk. The teams and University Centers also will help coordinate the event, find volunteers, set up the course and help during the run/walk.
The event will help support the 1.1 million Wisconsin children and adults who live with arthritis, a painful and often debilitating disease. The event honoree this year will be Miranda, a 13-year-old girl who lives with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
The Arthritis Foundation is the largest private, not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research in the world, funding more than $380 million in research grants since 1948.
The registration fee is $25 per person or $22 per member of a team. Participants may register online or in person starting at 8 a.m. on the day of the event.
