Retirement Planning Course to Be Offered Through UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education and Bernicke & Associates Ltd. will offer "Retirement Planning Today" from 6-9 p.m. Oct.12 and 13 at UW-Eau Claire. This two-night course focuses on eight facets of retirement planning, including tax minimization strategies, estate planning, asset protection and advanced investment strategies. The course is tailored to individuals who are retired or who are within 10 years of retirement.

Ty A. Bernicke, a certified financial planner, will be the instructor for the course. He was recognized as one of the "Top 100 Independent Advisors in America" by Registered Rep. magazine in 2007 and 2009. Bernicke's research on investing and retirement planning has been recognized in the Chicago Tribune (March 2009), The Wall Street Journal (August 2006), Forbes (December 2007), Money magazine (December 2005) and many other well-known publications.

Bernicke & Associates Ltd. is a local, independent firm consisting of certified public accountants, certified financial planners and Raymond James registered investment professionals. For more than 23 years, the firm has focused on advising individuals who have retired or are within 10 years of retirement and also specializes in exit planning for business owners. Bernicke & Associates Ltd., which is family owned and operated, has a longstanding relationship with UW-Eau Claire. The firm employs professionals, many of whom are former and current UW-Eau Claire instructors, alumni and/or current students.

The program fee is $59 per registrant and includes one seminar binder. Each registrant may bring a guest at no additional charge. The fee is $79 for two registrants if each person would like his/her own binder.
