EAU CLAIRE — "Transforming Our Future" will be the message that greets two groups of visitors to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in September and October.

The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools will conduct a reaccreditation site visit to the campus Sept. 14-16. The site visit is the culmination of an intensive self-study and is required for UW-Eau Claire to receive federal and state funding. The UW System Board of Regents will convene on the campus Oct. 15-16. The regents rotate meetings throughout the system campuses and Madison.

The "Transforming Our Future" theme was chosen because it highlights the values and objectives of UW-Eau Claire's strategic vision to become the premier learning community in the upper Midwest, said Mike Rindo, executive director of University Communications. The theme will be echoed in the environmental graphics developed as one of the "Quick Wins" awards funded in December by Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich. Those graphics are displayed in Schofield Hall and on lightposts in the Central Campus Mall area.

"In discussing possible themes for the visits, it was decided that using 'Transforming Our Future' would enable us to maximize the 'Quick Wins' award," Rindo said.

"In the past, specific graphics would be developed for these kinds of visits, but given our current budget situation, the groups planning the HLC and Board of Regents visits thought it would be best to use materials that were already developed and would have multiple uses for several years to come."

The environmental graphics were designed by the Publications office under the "Quick Wins" award submitted by University Communications and the Strategic Planning office.
