UW-Eau Claire Announces Fall Schedule for The Cabin

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has announced the fall semester schedule of performances in The Cabin, the Davies Center coffeehouse that provides free performances nearly every weekend and jazz shows many Wednesday evenings.

We are the Willows, an indie folk-pop group from Minneapolis, will open the series at 8 p.m. Sept. 4.

The Cabin schedule includes monthly open stage opportunities for campus and area talent and performances by UW-Eau Claire students, faculty, staff, community members and nationally touring artists. All performances are produced and managed completely by student members of The Cabin committee of the Student Senate's University Activities Commission.

Highlights of the semester follow.

  • Featured artists include Jeremy Messersmith (Sept. 25-26), The Wars of 1812 (Oct. 9-10) and Chris Koza (Nov. 20-21). The professional artists are presented at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday and at 8 p.m.Saturday.
  • Open stage opportunities will be presented at 8 p.m. Sept. 12, Oct. 30, Nov. 14 and Dec. 11. Anyone interested in performing is invited to sign up in the Student Senate office, Davies Center 132, before 4:30 p.m. on the day of the show.
  • Jazz at Night performances will be presented every Wednesday at 8 p.m. Oct. 14 through Nov. 18.
  • UW-Eau Claire students will perform classical music every Tuesday in November, from noon to 1 p.m.

Cabin performances are free and open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all evening programs.
