SUBJECT: News Conference Announcing Title III Grant to Help Enhance UW-Eau Claire Undergraduate Experience

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has received a major competitive grant from the U.S. Department of Education that will fund programs to enhance students' undergraduate educational experience.

The grant comes as the university faces state budget reductions of more than $14 million over the next two years.

UW-Eau Claire is one of just 57 colleges and universities nationwide to receive a grant this year from the Strengthening Institutions program of the Office of Postsecondary Education in the U.S. Department of Education.

Specifics of the grant will be announced at a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in the Eagle Room of Davies Center at UW-Eau Claire.
