EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin Jazz Ensemble II, under the direction of Bob Baca, professor of music, will present "The Lost Music of Sam Kenton" at 7:30 p.m. April 16 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The concert will begin with "Just One of Those Things" by Rob McConnell, followed by "Dream" by Jiggs Whigham and "Black Friday" by Fred Sturm. The first half of the performance will conclude with "Brecker Brac" by Tom Kubis.

The second half of the concert will feature eight selections by world-renowned jazz composer Stan Kenton. The pieces will include Kenton's "Air Mail Special," "Stardust," "Lover," "Love for Sale," and others. A permanent fixture in the jazz music scene, Kenton's music continues to surge in popularity. His distinctive style, known as the "Kenton Style," lives on in jazz bands at the high school and collegiate levels.
