Films Accepted Through April 20 for
10th Annual STIFFE at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: April 3, 2009

movie cameraEAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will accept submissions for the tenth annual Student Independent Film Festival through April 20.

Any UW-Eau Claire student may enter a film in the competition for the STIFFE awards, which will be presented at 1 p.m. May 3 in Davies Theatre.

Awards will be given for Best Film, Best Story and Best Use of the Visual Medium. After the April 20 deadline, a panel of UW-Eau Claire students and the film committee of the Student Senate's University Activities Commission will choose three finalists in each category. Of these three finalists, the panel will select one winner, and the awards will be announced at the May 3 festival.

An Audience Award, open to all films shown at the festival, will also be presented.

Although there are no time restrictions, films should ideally be no longer than 30 minutes. Entries may be submitted on VHS or DVD. The entry form is available in the Student Organizations Complex (Davies Center 132) and the Activities and Programs office (Davies Center 133), or it may be downloaded from the UAC Web site, which also includes more information about the competition.

The University Activities Commission of the Student Senate sponsors the STIFFE awards.
