Dinner for Insulin-using Diabetics and Families

EAU CLAIRE — "Celebrating Life with Diabetes" — an event for insulin-requiring diabetics and their families — will be held from 4-8 p.m. May 13 at the Plaza Hotel in Eau Claire.

Exhibits will open at 4 p.m. Dinner, awards and recognitions will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Featured guests Dr. Tom Roberts and Pat Culver have lived with Type 1 diabetes for more than 50 years.

Keynote speaker Joe Solowiejczyk, RN, MSW, will present "Diabetes and the Family" at 6:30 p.m. He is manager of diabetes counseling and training, global strategic affairs, for LifeScan Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, and a healthcare professional who has lived with Type 1 diabetes for more than 40 years.

Sponsors include University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, Luther Midelfort, Novo Nordisk, Accu-Chek, Sanofi Aventis, Animas, Medtronic, Dexcom and Lilly.

The cost is $5 per person.
