UW-Eau Claire to Offer Information
for Higher Education Day Oct. 7

RELEASED: Sept. 30, 2008

moneyEAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Financial Aid office will participate in Higher Education Day by hosting an open house from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 7 in Room 115 of Schofield Hall on lower campus.

Counselors and advisers will be available to answer questions and meet with students and parents. All questions about financial aid for college are welcome — from details about the application forms to individual eligibility concerns and special circumstances.

If the time is not convenient, people can call the Financial Aid office for information and advice at 715-836-3373. Parking is available by contacting the Visitor Center at 715-836-2544.

UW-Eau Claire's Admissions office also will participate in Higher Education Day by having admissions counselors available to provide information and answer questions from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 8 in Zorn Arena during the Wisconsin Education Fair.

Wisconsin's governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state treasurer and superintendent of public instruction have collaborated in a joint proclamation to designate Oct. 7 as Higher Education Day. The goal is to raise awareness that higher education in Wisconsin is accessible, to inspire students of all ages to reach for post-secondary education as a goal, and to educate children and adults about saving for post-secondary education by making them aware of the savings and financial assistance programs available through EdVest and other resources.
