Graduate and Professional School Fair to Be Held Oct. 9 at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Sept. 30, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's third annual Graduate and Professional School Fair will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 9 in the Council Fire Room in Davies Center.

Representatives from more than 40 schools with graduate programs will be at the fair, which is open to everyone in the Chippewa Valley and surrounding areas, including students from neighboring colleges and universities.

A variety of schools and programs will be represented, including medical schools, law schools, business schools and others. Information on UW-Eau Claire's graduate programs in English, history, business, nursing, psychology, special education, communication sciences and disorders, and curriculum and instruction also will be available.

The idea for the event originated with students in Golden Key, an academic honor society that recognizes and encourages scholastic achievement and excellence among college and university students from all academic disciplines.

Paula Stuettgen, adviser to the Golden Key International Honour Society, said she was proud the society "recognized a student need" and was able to successfully create an event to address that need. She also said students considering graduate studies and the university as a whole benefit from the fair.

"The Graduate and Professional School Fair is an event that is relevant to students here at UW-Eau Claire as well as people in the greater Eau Claire community who may consider attending a graduate or professional school in the near future," said Joseph J. Glatczak, Golden Key's historian.
