Four QuickBooks 2008 Workshops Offered

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center and Continuing Education will offer four QuickBooks 2008 workshops in Eau Claire.

Designed for small business owners, managers and office personnel, participants may register to learn more about specific features of this popular business accounting software.

The series is facilitated by Jim Mattson, an accountant and computer consultant at Bauman Associates. He encourages participants to bring their own examples and "what ifs" to work on during class, which makes class discussion realistic and practical.

The four workshops offered are:

  • "QuickBooks — Getting Started with the Basics" will meet from 5-8:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Review accounting terminology, learn to install the software, discover how to enter basic data, do budgets, reconcile accounts and more.
  • "QuickBooks — Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Essentials" will meet from 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 4. Set up AP and AR preferences, establish sales tax authorities and codes, process company credit cards and more.
  • "QuickBooks — Payroll Essentials" will meet from 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 11. Discover efficient payroll recordkeeping and reporting capacity, process quarterly and year-end government reports such as W2s, as well as other customized reports.
  • "QuickBooks — Beyond the Essentials" will meet from 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 18. Explore security features, learn how to use the Web site for help and to download updates, customize company files and transactions.

Each half-day workshop fee is $99. A discounted fee of $356 is available for pre-registration for all four workshops by one person. Fees include instruction, course materials, Continuing Education Units and refreshments.

Workshops will be held in Room 210 in Schneider Hall at UW-Eau Claire. Parking permits are provided.
