UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education Offers Programs on Export Regulations, Compliance, Partners and Resources

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present two programs at the Holiday Inn in Eau Claire designed to help regional businesses learn about exporting regulation compliance, partners and resources.

"Export Compliance Overview — 2008 Update" will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Speakers, Ann Thomas from Circinus, Ltd., and Cherie Sonsalla from Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. will focus on the continually changing and country specific export regulations and provide current compliance information and practical tips. The $45 program fee includes lunch and handouts. Students may attend for $15.

"International Service Providers: Options, Answers, Resources" will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 12. Speakers include Robin Burch from GEO Group; Mike Howard, from Export Import Bank; and Curt Hanson from Trade Acceptance Group, as well as the Wisconsin International Trade Team and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection. Speakers will focus on partners and resources available to help businesses enter and thrive in international markets. Streamlining export processes, export financing and capital lines of credit will also be discussed. The $55 program fee includes lunch and handouts. Students may attend for $15.
