for the Week of Sept. 22

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performance the week beginning Monday, Sept. 22. All events are free and open to the public.
Thursday, Sept. 25:
- Guest artist Jessica Timman, mezzo-soprano, will present "Songs of Paul Bowles" at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall. Assisted on piano by Martha Saywell, Timman will begin with "Song of an Old Woman," "Letter to Freddy" and "Three." She also will perform "My Sisters Hand in Mine" and "Secret Words." The recital will conclude with "Cuatro Canciones de Garcia Lorca." Timman holds a doctor of musical arts degree in voice performance from UW-Madison, and graduated magna cum laude from UW-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in music education. Timman has been the recipient of several awards, including the Voice Excellence Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowship.
