for the Week of Sept. 15

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performance the week beginning Monday, Sept. 15. The event is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, Sept. 17:

  • Guest artists Dr. Shelley Collins, assistant professor of flute and music history at Delta State University, Cleveland, Miss., performing on flute, and Dr. Andrea Cheeseman, associate professor of woodwinds at Delta State University, on clarinet, will join pianist Dr. Namji Kim, UW-Eau Claire assistant professor of music and theatre arts, in a recital at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The concert will begin with "Duo for Flute and Clarinet" by Antoni Szalowski, followed by "Chôros, No. 2" by Heitor Villa-Lobos and Sonate poure Clarinette Solo by Ida Gotkovsky. The second half of the program will include "Tuberama for Flute and CD" by Ian Clarke and Simon Painter; "Duos for Flute and Clarinet" by Robert Muczynski and will end with "Five Pieces, Op. 56" by César Cui..
