Indianhead Honors Band to Perform with
UW-Eau Claire Wind Symphony

EAU CLAIRE — The Indianhead Honors Band and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Wind Symphony will perform a joint concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The Indianhead Honors Band, directed by Dr. Phillip Ostrander and Dr. James Colonna, will begin with "Cenotaph" by Jack Stamp, followed by "Allerseelen" by Richard Strauss and "Portraits," an original composition by Colonna. Next will be "Cajun Folk Songs" by Frank Ticheli and Piccolo Concerto by Antonio Vivaldi, featuring Dr. Tim Lane on flute. The Honors Band's final selection will be "A+" by Thomas Duffy.

The Wind Symphony will take the stage for the second portion of the concert and will begin with "Aubrey Fanfare" by Jack Stamp, followed by "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauridsen and "Children's March" by Percy Grainger. The Wind Symphony also will perform "Poem" by Charles Griffess, with Lane on flute, and "Nobels of the Mystic Shrine" by John Phillip Sousa. The Wind Symphony is conducted by Colonna.

The Indianhead Honors Band and Wind Symphony concert will be hosted by the UW-Eau Claire Collegiate Chapter of the National Band Association.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.

Tickets for all campus events also are on sale at the Service Center's ticket office in the main lobby of Haas Fine Arts Center. The ticket outlet is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is closed during holidays and academic breaks.
