SUBJECT: Adventure Girls to attend photography, pottery classes at
UW-Eau Claire
Participants in the Adventure Girls, an after-school program for fifth-grade girls, will visit the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 29. The Adventure Girls is a collaborative effort between Longfellow Elementary School and UW-Eau Claire. University students provide mentorship for the girls during the eight-week program, which emphasizes self-esteem, cooperation and leadership.
On Wednesday the Adventure Girls will visit classrooms in UW-Eau Claire's department of art & design, where Assistant Professor Jyl Kelley and her photography students and Assistant Professor Susan O'Brien and her ceramics students will teach the girls about photography and pottery.
