Two Marketing Seminars Offered

RELEASED: Oct. 21, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Small Business Development Center and the Office of Continuing Education will offer two marketing seminars this fall.

The seminars, "Building Your Brand" on Nov. 12 and "Getting BIG Marketing Results with Small Ad Budgets" on Dec. 3 will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center located at the intersection of Highway 29 and County Road T just north of Eau Claire.

In today's economic times, it is critical to develop an identity that conveys the essence of a business to its customers and stakeholders, according to the seminar planners. The "Building Your Brand" seminar will assess a business' image from its clients' points of view. The seminar will identify why customers choose to do business with a certain business, analyze the strength of the business' brand's assets, build the business' brand equity and assemble the business' team of branding champions.

Tight marketing budgets may require spending less and using creative strategies to achieve desired results. The "Getting BIG Marketing Results with small ad budgets" seminar investigates how to stretch limited advertising dollars to create clear, enticing messages to prospective customers. The seminar also will help businesses create a solid marketing plan to get desired results.

Both seminars are designed for key personnel who promote, advertise or perform public relations functions for a for-profit business or nonprofit agency. Small business owners and managers, sales and marketing professionals, graphic designers and business consultants will be able to immediately implement the practical ideas from the workshops in their businesses.
