'Science, Faith and the New Atheism' Topic of Oct. 7 Lecture

RELEASED: Oct. 6, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — Dr. John F. Haught, a senior fellow of science and religion at Georgetown University's Woodstock Theological Center, will present "Science, Faith, and the New Atheism" from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 7 in Schofield Auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

One of the world's leading thinkers in theology and science, Haught is the author of "God and the New Atheism: A Critical Response to Dawkins, Harris, and Hitchens," "Christianity and Science," "God After Darwin," "Is Nature Enough?" and other books.

Haught's presentation is free and open to the public.

The presentation is sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Dialogue on Science and Religion. CVDSR was established by UW-Eau Claire faculty and community members to help people better understand issues relating to both science and religion. The initiative encourages organized discussions, brings science and religion experts to campus, and guides high school science teachers in addressing questions that touch on religion.
