UW-Eau Claire University Band to Perform Dec. 1

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's University Band will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The University Band, directed by Randal Dickerson, associate professor of music, will begin with "The Soaring Eagle" by Jim Colonna, lecturer of music, followed by John Barnes Chance's "Incantation and Dance" and "March of the Belgian Paratroopers" by Pierre Leemans.

Next will be "William Byrd Suite" by Gordon Jacob, conducted by senior Brad March, Minneapolis; "Armored Division March" by Michael Cunningham, emeritus professor of music; and "On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss" by David R. Holsinger. The concert will conclude with Symphonic Dance No. 3 by Clifton Williams.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and free for students with a university ID.

Tickets for all campus events also are on sale at the Service Center's ticket office in the main lobby of Haas Fine Arts Center. The ticket outlet is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is closed during holidays and academic breaks.
