SUBJECT: Chinese Delegation Visiting UW-Eau Claire Nov. 19
Several representatives from Henan University in China — including the university's president — will visit UW-Eau Claire Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Henan University is one of UW-Eau Claire's partner universities in its China 1+2+1 program, a program that enables Chinese students to earn a degree from UW-Eau Claire and their home institution in China after studying at each institution for two years and completing all program requirements. Several Chinese students are studying at UW-Eau Claire this fall, the first participants in the program. Campus officials expect the number of Chinese students studying at UW-Eau Claire to increase in future years.
UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich and the Chinese delegates will meet and sign partnership agreements from 11:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Heritage Room of Davies Center. A luncheon will follow the signing ceremony.
Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend the 11:30 a.m. signing ceremony.
The China 1+2+1 program is one of several UW-Eau Claire programs that link UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff with Chinese students, faculty and staff. In addition to academic and exchange programs, UW-Eau Claire also has hosted a number of events and lectures that relate to China.
