for the Week of Nov. 17

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Nov. 17. All events are free and open to the public.

Monday, Nov. 17:

  • The UW-Eau Claire Wind Chamber Ensembles will present a joint student recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The Ensembles will begin with selections by Alvin Etler, Arthur Woodbury, J. Henry Bove and Pietro Domenica. The ensembles also will perform two pieces by Quinto Maganini and Malcolm Arnold.

Tuesday, Nov. 18:

  • Senior Jennifer Tinberg, Chanhassen, Minn., will perform a clarinet recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Assisted on piano by Judy Lies, Tinberg will begin with "Aubade for Woodwind Trio" by Paul De Wailly, Clarinet Concerto by Aaron Copland and "Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano" by Aram Khachaturian. The second half of the recital will begin with "Three Pieces for Clarinet Solo" by Igor Stravinsky and "The Victorian Kitchen Garden Suite" by Paul Reade. The recital will conclude with Duo for Clarinet and Piano by Norbert Burgmuller. Tinberg will be assisted on flute by senior Kristen Sward, on oboe by senior Ashley Singer, on violin by senior Kim Drewiske and on harp by Bethany Van Goor.

Wednesday, Nov. 19:

  • Junior sopranos Erica Cosson, West Allis, and Rebecca Kidnie, St. Paul, Minn., will present a joint voice recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Cosson will perform selections by Henry Purcell, Franz Liszt and Manuel de Falla. Kidnie will perform pieces by Vincenzo Raghini, Franz Schubert, Hugh Wolf, Jules Massenet and Amy Marcy Cheney. Cosson and Kidnie will join for a duet in the closing selection, "What is this Feeling?" by Stephen Schwartz. Cosson will be assisted on piano by senior Laurie Zakrzewski. Kidnie will be assisted on piano by junior Brandon Covelli.
